trip notes
The hike: A revisit of our very first hike. This trip wasn't has hard as the first go around. Being is hiking shape is a real thing. There are some steep areas but a good hike all the way around. Recommend hiking up beyond the upper lake. The marmot up there are fearless and come up close for some good photos.
The fishing: Fishing was so much different this time around. We were fly fishing the lakes instead of bait fishing the steams. At the time of this trip (AUG) any black or dark fly worked very well. We caught (and released) over 100 fish a piece at the lower lake. Every lake produced fish. The lower lake was about quantity. The upper lake was about quality. Some very big fish in the upper lake. You don't catch as many in the upper lake but the ones you do catch are of good size (14" to 18").
The weather: Was a beautiful trip. The wind was off and on but nothing like the first trip.
